Tree Service

Frontier Tree Service (formerly Sunshine Tree Service) has been providing quality tree care since 1980 in the Vancouver/Portland-Metro area. In 2010, Sunshine Tree Service joined with Frontier Landscaping Inc., enabling us to offer more services to our customers.

We are licensed, bonded and insured, all work performed to ISA standards.

Frontier Tree Service offers the best staff in the tree care industry and includes certified arborists.* You can count on your work being completed in the safest manner possible using best practices set forth by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA).

Pruning

We remove low limbs and eliminate dead, dying or diseased portions of trees. When thinning, we take out the inner crossover branches of the tree canopy but not more than one third of the tree crown.

Ornamental Pruning

We prune more specialized, valuable trees and shrubs such as bonsai specimens. We also perform topiary pruning to shape a tree or shrub into a desired object or animal.

Tree, Shrub and Stump Removal

Tree and shrub removal includes taking down branches and trunks, either by felling or in pieces. Stump removal involves locating underground utilities and then chipping away at the stump to a depth of at least 18 inches. We completely dispose of all debris unless otherwise specified.

Cabling & Bracing

We install hardware in a tree that has more than one trunk, which will assist the tree in supporting itself during inclement weather or because of a weak crotch or to raise lower hanging branches to the desired height.

Other services we provide:

  • Chipping
  • Planting
  • Diagnosis
  • Treatment – insects, fungal and fertilization
  • Cleanup
  • 24/7 emergency tree service

At Frontier Tree Service, we take great pride in providing the best arboriculture services around. Our No. 1 focus is customer satisfaction and we strive to exceed your expectations.

*Why hire a certified arborist?

An arborist, by definition, is an individual trained in the art and science of planting, caring for and maintaining individual trees. Arborists are knowledgeable about the needs of trees and are trained and equipped to provide proper care. Certified Arborists are individuals who have achieved a high level of knowledge and experience and pass a comprehensive examination developed by some of the nation’s leading experts on tree care. Certified arborists must adhere to a stringent code of ethics and continue their education to maintain their certification.
